From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
